Classbook had been coming to the ethnic minority’s students

On January 28th, 2015, in the program “Computers for Life”, Ministry of Information and Communications, Intel Vietnam JSC, Educational eBooks JSC, Education Publishing House and the Department of Information and Communication of Thai Nguyen province held a meeting to award modern classrooms using Ebook Classbook to Van Lang secondary school in Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province.

The guests attending the ceremony include Mr. PhanThao Nguyen – Head of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Information and Communication; Mr. Vu QuocThanh – Director of Thai Nguyen Department of Information and Communication; Representatives of Educational eBooks JSC of Vietnam Education Publishing House, Intel Vietnam, Department of Education and Training of Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. PhanThao Nguyen and Vu QuocThanh had emphasized the significance of the “Computers for Life” is to narrow the digital difference among regions. Classbook will be a convenient and useful learning method to enable the application of innovative teaching methods, contribute to improve the quality of education. They also sent their thanks to the Education eBooks Company, Intel Vietnam for co-operating with Information and Communication Department in universalizing computer internet and IT applications to a variety of regions in the country, as well as share the joy with the Van Lang Secondary School’s teachers and students as accessing to new and modern teaching and learning methods. It is hopeful that the school will use Classbook effectiveness in the learning process.

Immediately after the ceremony, a sample lesson using Classbook was applied to a Literature class of grade 9 at Van Lang secondary school. For most students, this is the first time they are exposed to an entirely new learning. The multimedia data was completely designed and reported, the method was simple, visual, thus the learning and expanding their knowledge had become easier than ever.

Van Lang Secondary School is in the ​​poor highland area. The school has six classes, with 184 students, 70% are ethnic minorities. The proportion of students from poor and near-poor households accounted for 71%. The donated teaching and learning equipment has a great significance for the school to improve the effectiveness of the lessons.
